Mildmay’s Christmas carol concert was quite an evening – one to welcome in the festive season in style!
Stephanie Beacham and Anita Dobson
Spitalfields church was packed to the rafters for our annual festive fundraiser and guests were treated to a fantastic evening of celebrity readings and solo performances. Stars of stage and screen joined to support Mildmay and included Linda Robson, Stephanie Beacham, Anita Dobson, Robert Powell, Richard Arnold and Patti Boulaye. As usual the evening was hosted by the one and only Roger Royle who brought the whole evening together with perfect timing and style. Diversity Choir joined the event for the fifth year running, as did Mildmay ambassador and soprano Sally Harrison.
Kerry Reeves-Kneip, Director of Fundraising at Mildmay said ” We are simply blown away by how incredible this evening was and how many stars lined up to support us. This event just goes from strength to strength with something for everyone. The music was simply beautiful and the readings both funny and poignant. We have so far raised a record breaking £11,000 with £5,000 of that collected by our volunteers on the evening itself. We really couldn’t have made this event happen without sponsorship from Genesis Housing who built Mildmay’s new hospital. Now all we have to do is plan for next year!”
