At Mildmay, we believe that spiritual care is just as vital as the physical and emotional support we provide to our patients. For many, faith offers comfort, hope, and strength during challenging times. That’s why our Morning Prayer and lunchtime chapel services have become an integral part of the daily life at the hospital, creating a moment of reflection and peace for everyone involved.
Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, we gather for Morning Prayer on Zoom at 9:30 a.m., followed by a lunchtime chapel service at noon. These services are led by our wonderful chaplain, Bernie Devine SP, and each one is a unique experience, shaped by the season, the Church’s pastoral calendar, and the events unfolding in our world.
Whether it’s a quiet time of prayer or a Eucharist, the service reflects both the personal and communal journey of faith we all share.
Our congregation is beautifully diverse, with patients, staff members, family, and visitors coming together. Sometimes, a brief conversation before or after the service reminds us how much this spiritual touchpoint means to those who participate. For many patients, particularly those who may feel isolated or uncertain, these moments of collective worship bring reassurance and the knowledge that they are not alone.
You are welcome to join our Morning Prayer via Zoom. It’s a simple yet meaningful way to connect with our hospital’s spiritual life, whether you’re near or far. If you’d like to receive the link, just email Bernie at mildmay.chaplains@nhs.net, and we’ll be delighted to welcome you.
At Mildmay, we’re more than just a hospital - we’re a community, and our spiritual life is one way we come together in unity and hope. Thank you for your interest and for supporting our work in providing holistic care to our patients.
Thank you for your interest.
