Holocaust Memorial Day occurred while I was away from the hospital, so I wanted to ensure we took time to honour the day together.
At Mildmay, we believe in remembering and reflecting on important moments in history, even when we are not directly involved in formal national events.
That’s why I’ve invited a representative from the Holocaust Memorial Trust to visit us and speak in our chapel on Wednesday, 5 February, at noon.
The event will be a short but meaningful gathering, lasting about half an hour. It offers a moment for us to come together, as staff and patients. I know that we are all horrified when we reflect on such events in history. I hope that we shall be re-inspired by Hannah when she visits us.
This event is for patients and staff, and I truly hope it will be a time of thoughtful reflection, learning, and renewal of our shared commitment to care and compassion for all.
Thank you in advance for your support and presence.
