A team from Mildmay Hospital is attending the British HIV Association (BHIVA) 3-day Spring Conference at the ICC Birmingham, which finishes today.

Our delegation, comprising Dr Simon Rackstraw (Medical Director), Teri Milewska (Matron, Registered Manager and Lead Nurse), and Patricia Nkansah-Asamoah (Admissions Manager) has been keen to participate, gaining valuable insights into the latest advancements in HIV/AIDS treatment and care.

This annual event offers a wealth of lectures, presentations and workshops delivered by leading experts in the field of HIV care and it is a valuable opportunity to learn new approaches and best practices that we can implement back at Mildmay. This knowledge exchange will undoubtedly contribute to our continued efforts to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Beyond attending the informative sessions, the Mildmay team is also hosting a stand at the conference. This provided a fantastic platform for us to connect with a comprehensive range of charities, clinical groups and other organisations working in the field of HIV care and research from around the world, raising awareness about our vital HIV/AIDS work, and highlighting the unique specialist services we offer.

Many attendees have stopped by the stand to chat with our team and learn more about the invaluable role Mildmay plays in supporting people living with HIV/AIDS, in particular, our specialist treatment and rehabilitation of people with HIV-related brain disorders.

Overall, the BHIVA Spring Conference has proven to be a valuable learning and networking experience for the Mildmay Hospital team. We are excited to translate the acquired knowledge into tangible improvements in patient care at our hospital and look forward to continuing our participation in such important events that foster collaboration and progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
