A Sparkling line up of celebrity artists perform at Mildmay’s Christmas carol concert in our 150th year.
‘Spine tingling’- ‘Incredibly Moving’ – ‘ An amazing uplifting evening’ were just some of the ways the audience described Mildmay’s charity Christmas carol concert, which was held at Spitalfield’s Church on 14th December.
The superb line up of talented performers made for a sparkling and eclectic evening hosted by Canon Roger Royle. Artists included actors: Hugh Dennis, Robert Powell, Julie Peasgood and Patricia Brake, Presenter: Richard Arnold and clarinettist and member of the Queens Band of the Grenadier Guards: David Wong. The evening was a musical extravaganza with harpist Mari Beattie, soprano Sally Harrison, mezzo contralto Maria Jones, tenor Alex Aldren and Rick Guard who closed the evening with some rousing Christmas favourites. Diversity Choir joined the audience and musicians throughout the evening, raising the roof with their incredible voices. A hi-light was their Wizard of Oz Medley, complete with Ruby Slippers! The evening raised in excess of £8,000 which will go towards Mildmay’s vital work for people living with complex HIV health conditions including HIV associated brain impairment.
Kerry Reeves-Kneip, Fundraising Director said: “We were so touched and deeply grateful that so many incredible artists donated their time and talent to make this wonderful evening such a success.
