Mildmay's Winter Fundraising Appeal Reaches £31,000!

Mildmay staff with a vulnerable patient

We’re thrilled to report that Mildmay’s Winter Fundraising Appeal has reached a significant milestone - yesterday, we received donations amounting to £1,500, bringing our total to £31,270!

Launched on World AIDS Day (1st December 2024), our appeal runs until April, and the response so far has been amazing.

The appeal aims to raise crucial funds to improve services and facilities at Mildmay Hospital, where we provide vital care for some of the most vulnerable patients. The total goal of £50,000 will be allocated to four key areas:

     •           £20,000 for technology upgrades

     •           £15,000 for chaplaincy and staff costs

     •           £10,000 for hospital equipment and facilities

     •           £5,000 for social care

We’re deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from individuals, charitable trusts, churches, and community groups. Our Patron, Roger Royle, helped us launch the appeal in December, and since then, donations have been pouring in.

We hope we are well on track to achieve our £50,000 target, and it would be amazing to raise even more! As a charitable hospital, Mildmay relies heavily on public support to continue our essential work - every contribution helps us improve the lives of people living with HIV and those recovering from complex health conditions, including those related to homelessness.

Running our modern facility is costly - around £12,000 per day! While roughly 90% of our funding comes from NHS contracts, the remaining costs, as well as any additional expenses to maintain our staff, services, and facilities, are entirely supported by charitable donations.

A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed so far! Your generosity is making a real difference in the lives of the vulnerable people entrusted to our care. However, we can’t slack off now - there’s still work to be done! Every donation helps us move closer to our goal and ensures we can continue providing the essential services and care that our patients depend on.
