The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of London visit Mildmay.
2016 was a busy anniversary year for Mildmay Hospital, beginning with a visit from HRH Prince Harry who officially opened the newly built facility. The visit from the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress of London followed almost twelve months later and officially closed what has been an exciting, memorable and event filled year,
The Lord Mayor of London, Andrew Parmley said:
“It was my pleasure to join the celebrations for Mildmay Hospital’s very special 150th anniversary year. For 28 of those years, Mildmay has worked at the forefront of HIV treatment and support. Today, it provides specialised rehabilitation, medical treatment and care for people with complex and severe HIV health conditions, including HIV associated brain impairment – a condition of which many people remain unaware. The care, experience, knowledge and dedication of Mildmay’s highly-skilled team transforms countless lives – and we all owe them an immense debt of gratitude.”
Visiting patients and staff on the ward
Ross White, Chief Executive of Mildmay said:
“ We felt very privileged to be able to welcome The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of London to Mildmay Hospital. They had the opportunity to meet patients and staff, as well as take part in a special service to give thanks for what has been an extraordinary year, and to all those people who have supported us. It was even more special for us as we so recently took part for the first time in The Lord Mayors Show, which is such an iconic and wonderful London event.”
